Optyczne.pl Spring Festival – event report
A three-day report from the Optyczne.pl Spring Festival in Łochów, with equipment tests, outdoor sessions, workshops and lectures.
The Optyczne.pl Festival is behind us. Here is our short report from the event.
Following a tradition established over several years, the spring festival of Optyczne.pl took place at the 19th-century palace complex in Łochów, around 70 km from Warsaw. The three-day event ran from 22 to 24 April 2022 and gave participants access to hundreds of cameras, lenses, video cameras, flashes, tripods and accessories. Foto-Tip supported the brands Quadralite, Irix, Hoya and Tokina.
Day 1
The event opened with organizational information from the Optyczne.pl team, followed by the part everyone was waiting for: equipment testing. Participants borrowed cameras, lenses and accessories and tested them around the palace and outdoors.
In the evening Michał Warda presented “Light, where film meets photography”, discussing how multiple sources and modifiers can shape the mood of a scene.
Day 2
The second day began with an early-morning outdoor session. Adam Laube from Quadralite ran clamshell-lighting workshops for three groups, showing how to position a model between an upper softbox and a lower reflector.
Michał Warda also demonstrated portrait-lighting techniques, including combining a lamp with a projector and simulating sunlight through a window.
The evening featured lectures by wildlife photographer Adam Stankiewicz and Jacek Bonecki.
Day 3
The final morning again started outdoors, followed by breakfast, the last equipment tests, returns and final workshops. The event ended at 14:00.

The April festival was not the only edition planned – another event was scheduled for 21–23 October.
We hoped to meet both familiar faces and new participants looking for a rare opportunity to test photo and video equipment.
