#QuadralitePortraitContest Winners Announced
More than 600 entries and these were the winning photographs. The #QuadralitePortraitContest showcased a remarkable range of portrait photography.

More than 600 entries were submitted – and these were the winning photographs. The #QuadralitePortraitContest showcased a wealth of beautiful work in one of photography's most demanding genres. Here we present the results and the winners.
Portrait photography demands commitment from both photographer and subject. Good light matters, the background should support rather than distract from the person, styling and make-up need attention, and post-production must be handled with care. “A portrait needs to have something special. Today everyone has easy access to equipment. It is very easy to make a technically good photograph; finding that something special is harder,” said the editor-in-chief of Fotopolis.pl and Digital Camera Polska, one of the competition judges.

The jury considered many factors. Composition and post-processing mattered, but concept and creativity proved most important. “The standard of the entries was genuinely high. There was an incredible variety, from digital work to photographs made on film. Choosing was not easy at all,” said Arcadius Mauritz, photographer and jury chairman. After discussion, the jury selected the following winners.

###### 1st place: Seweryn Kiedrowicz
Awarded for a classic approach to portraiture, an original model, gentleness and a beautiful moment.

###### 2nd place: Rafał Szymański
Awarded for technical perfection and an analogue atmosphere.

###### 3rd place: Artur Frontczak
Awarded for excellent colour and lighting.
The prizes in #QuadralitePortraitContest were:

- 2nd place: a Quadralite Stroboss 36 flash and publication on Fotopolis.pl,
- 3rd place: publication of the winning photograph on Fotopolis.pl.
